Paul Kuzma
Paul Kuzma
EHD Course Coach & Director of EHD Course Coaches
Virginia, USA
Paul Kuzma found EHD the way a lot of pastors do — at the end of his rope. It was 2003, he was in Southern California, recovering from burnout and depression, and frustrated enough with something at church to go searching for answers online. What he typed into a search engine, before Google was a verb, was a phrase he wasn’t sure existed: “emotionally healthy churches.” A book came up. He read it in one sitting, handed it to his wife Colleen, and told her: this guy is writing about everything we’ve been learning in therapy for the past two years.

John Hamilton
John Hamilton
EHD Course Coach, South America
Montevideo, Uruguay
John Hamilton has spent decades as a missionary pastor in Montevideo, Uruguay, working in the Spanish-speaking world where the pressure to produce and perform in ministry runs as deep as anywhere else. He and his wife, Lisa, first encountered EHD in 2014 at a conference in New York. What caught them wasn’t the framework, it was two specific things: a vision of Sabbath they hadn’t seen modeled in ministry, and the idea that the health of their marriage was inseparable from the health of their work.
