A Wonderful Benediction for You and Your Church

Posted August 1st, 2008 by Pete Scazzero

My 21 year old daughter picked up a lovely benediction while in New Zealand as an exchange student, one I have prayed for our own people. You  may want to pray this over the people around you, your family, your small group and your church.

You are God’s servants, gifted with dreams and visions,

Upon you rests the grace of God like flames of fire.

Love and serve the Lord in the strength of the Spirit.

May the peace of Christ be with you,

The strong arms of God sustain you,

And the power of the Holy Spirit strengthen you in every way.  Amen

Hey Pastor Pete!!!
Greetings from the past!!!
Jane and I are so grateful for your book The Emotionally Healthy Church. We have been able to experience some of what you’ve outlined in the book for the past three years. Even though it has been painful, we would not change it for anything. Jesus says that salvation is seeing the Father and for that purpose He came. We can truly say we are saved!!! We have experience Jesus in a deeper way!! We could have never imagined that our Lord could be so amazing. We look forward to knowing Him even more- Whatever it takes!!!We are truly blessed.

May God continue making Himself known in your life,

Rey and Jane Alvarenga

Hello
I am the author of the benediction. It comes
from my book “All the Seasons of Mercy” published
by Westminster Press in 1987. I live in Indiana. I was delighted that your daughter brought the blessing back.
My new book, “Trusted Voices: Spiritual Wisdom from
Lost Generations of Women” will be published in January 2009 by Witherspoon Press.

Rest in God!
